UzAuto Motors announced the termination of registration of applications for contracts for the supply of Chevrolet Equinox vehicles, Trend reports with reference to the press service of UzAuto Motors.
According to UzAuto Motors, the current generation of the Chevrolet Equinox is being phased out due to the lineup strategy.
The company assured that the delivery of Equinox to buyers who entered into contracts will be completed in full.
It is noted that Uzbekistan received Equinox from China. The first batch of 216 vehicles from SAIC-GM was delivered on April 9, 2020.
Earlier it was reported that UzAuto Motors has signed a contract with General Motors Overseas Distribution for the supply of 8,750 Chevrolet Equinox vehicles in 2020-2021. The contract amount accounted for almost $200 million, or about $22,845 per vehicle (CIP / CPT price). In Uzbekistan, Equinox was sold for 349 million soums ($33,100).
In addition, it was reported that General Motors (GM) will cut car production at four plants in the US, Canada, Mexico, and South Korea due to a shortage of semiconductor components. The restrictions will affect the production of Malibu, Equinox, and Trax (Tracker), as well as crossovers Cadillac XT4, GMC Terrain, and Buick Encore.
