Turkmenistan defines tasks for "Single Window for export-import operations"

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 5

By Jeila Aliyeva - Trend:

Turkmenistan is considering the tasks for the working group on the implementation of the project "Single Window for export-import operations" for 2021-2023, Trend reports with reference to the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.

The Integrated Customs Information System (ASYCUDA World), which is the main platform for the implementation of the Single Window system in the country, has been fully implemented in the customs authorities of Turkmenistan.

Comprehensive work is currently being carried out in Turkmenistan in order to develop a high-tech and competitive digital economy through the widespread introduction of the digital system in the industries.

In particular, the work is carried out in accordance with the Concept of the Development of the Digital Economy in Turkmenistan for 2019-2025.

As reported, the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan is working on the transition to a digital system, in particular, much attention is paid to the implementation of the "Single window" system.

The possibility of introducing a pre-cargo Declaration system (TIR-EPD) is also being studied. In this context, the customs service maintains close cooperation with Road Transport Union (IRU).

In general, the State customs service of Turkmenistan pays great attention to the development of international cooperation, as well as the implementation of international law at the national level.

As earlier IRU told Trend, The International Road Transport Union (IRU) and Turkmenistan have recently discussed the integrating the IRU TIR-EPD (electronic pre-declaration) module and the e-TIR module into The Automated System for Customs Data (ASYCUDA) customs system.
IRU pointed out that ASYCUDA is currently being implemented in Turkmenistan.

ASYCUDA is a computerized customs management system which covers most foreign trade procedures. The system handles manifests and customs declarations, accounting procedures, and warehousing manifest and suspense procedures. It generates detailed information about foreign trade transactions which can be used for economic analysis and planning.

“IRU recommends that the integration of the EPD and e-TIR modules are taken into account during the implementation of ASYCUDA in Turkmenistan,” added the IRU.
