Kazakh enterprises have produced 19,848 vehicles worth over 140.4 billion tenge ($330 million) for three months of 2021, Trend reports referring to the Association of Kazakhstan Auto Business (AKAB).

According to AKAB, in the reporting period, 17,602 passenger cars, 1,641 trucks, 349 buses, 200 trailers and semi-trailers, and 56 specialized vehicles were produced.

The five most popular brands (including export), products of which were mastered at the local enterprises, included Chevrolet (10,153 units), Hyundai (5,508 units), JAC (1,642 units), GAZ (893 units), and Kia (829 units).

In the first quarter of this year, ‘SaryarkaAvtoProm’ plant in Kostanay city has produced 13,063 vehicles (34.7 percent growth) worth 71.6 billion tenge ($170 million) and Almaty Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan - 5,454 passenger cars with a total value of 44.7 billion tenge ($100 million).

Besides, SemAZ plant in Semey city shipped 902 commercial vehicles (9 percent rise) in the amount of 8.3 billion tenge. Hyundai Trans Auto plant produced 245 trucks and buses (up by 199 percent). In Kokshetau city, KAMAZ-Engineering produced 206 trucks (36.4 percent increase), while Daewoo Bus Kazakhstan - 50 buses.

Exports in the first quarter grew by 84 percent to 1,968 vehicles. JAC and Chevrolet cars made in Kostanay are ordered by distributors and dealers of brands in Russia and Uzbekistan. The opportunity to enter the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) markets stimulate car manufacturers to increase the share of localization which is one of the priority areas for the development of Kazakhstan's automotive industry.
