Iran discloses details of cargo transportation from Mazandaran Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 3

A total of 3.58 million tons of cargo were transported from the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) to other provinces of Iran during the first two months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through May 21, 2021), an official of Road Maintenance & Transportation Organization in Mazandaran Province Rahmatollah Mousavi said, Trend reports citing Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.

Mousavi noted that cargo transportation increased by 42 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.

The official added that the main transported goods from the Mazandaran Province were sand, barley, cement, diesel, corn feed, dairy products, gasoline, fruits.

“There are 132 transport and cargo companies operating in Iran's Mazandaran Province,” he said.

According to Mousavi, there are 17,700 trucks and 18,000 truck drivers operating in the province.
