Uzbekistan, S.Korea agree to form consortium of logistics companies

Agreement was reached to form a consortium of the best logistics companies-members of the Korean-Uzbek Business Association (KUBA) to conclude a CSA (Cargo Service Agent) agreement with Uzbekistan Airways, Trend reports referring to Uzbek transport ministry.

First Deputy Chairman of KUBA Kim Chang Keon, who is on an official visit to Uzbekistan, met with the Minister of Transport, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airways Ilkhom Makhkamov. During the meeting, various issues were discussed and agreements were reached on air transportation and logistics between the two countries.

Keon noted that airlines are currently experiencing significant hardships associated with the ongoing global pandemic. In this regard, he proposed, in cooperation with Uzbekistan Airways, to promote projects on cargo transportation within the framework of large bilateral projects between Uzbekistan and South Korea, implemented with the active support and assistance of KUBA.

In turn, Makhkamov said that the development of the air transportation sector through official cooperation with KUBA in such a difficult time for everyone will have a great synergistic effect on other various areas and assured him of actively supporting cooperation on these issues.

The parties agreed to form a consortium of the best logistics companies-members of the KUBA to conclude a CSA (Cargo Service Agent) agreement with Uzbekistan Airways, through which projects in the field of air transportation will be promoted on an official basis.

In addition, representatives of both sides agreed on active cooperation and mutual exchange of various ideas on the development of Uzbekistan as the main logistics hub of the Central Asia region, including rail and road transport.
