TRACECA hopes that Turkmenistan will participate in the implementation of pilot transportation using blockchain technologies, Permanent Secretariat of the TRACECA Intergovernmental Commission (IPC) reported during the outgoing week.

"In 2020, the Permanent Secretariat of the TRACECA Intergovernmental Commission (IPC), together with the International Center for Transport Diplomacy, the Intergovernmental Council of Road Builders and IBM Corporation, carried out a lot of work with the involvement of representatives of Turkmenistan to develop the concept of a global transit document, which is a modern, electronic and universal solution for multimodal transportation using blockchain technologies," said the organization.

"Work in this direction continues, preparations are underway for the first pilot application of the Global Transit Document this year, " Permanent Secretariat of TRACECA IPC explained, expressing hope for Turkmenistan's participation.

Turkmenistan has also been a beneficiary country of a number of infrastructure projects, as well as technical assistance projects implemented with the support of the EU and currently continues to be an important partner of TRACECA in the region.

During the outgoing week, the Transport Corridors, Logistics and Transit Development Department under the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan reported that the Uzbek side is ready to consider the possibility of cooperation with Azerbaijan in the implementation of transport projects in the liberated territories of the country.

"If we get such a request from the Azerbaijani side, we will consider it," the ministry said.

The requests for international cargo transportation open new opportunities for cooperation between Azexport.az website and the "Single Window" Export Support Center under the Center for Economic Reforms Analysis and Communication of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan International Road Carriers Association (ABADA), the Center said during the outgoing week.

"In this sphere, the use of Carnet TIR plays an important role in speeding up the clearance process, as well as increasing the export of services of local companies."
