Iran's Kerman Province ranks second in terms of paving roads

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 17

The Kerman Province (south-eastern Iran) ranks second in Iran in terms of paving of roads with 13,200 kilometers, Director General for the Roads and Transport Department in Iran’s Kerman Province Ali Alikhani said, Trend reports citing Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran.

Alikhani said that furthermore, 3.83 trillion rials (about $91.2 million) worth of facilities and repaired roads will be put into operation in the province within the ‘Government Week’ in Iran (August 24 through August 30, 2021).

The director-general added that about 100 km of roads have been repaired in the province at a cost of 3.44 trillion rials (about $82 million).

Alikhani stressed also, a number of facilities for the protection of roads at a cost of 170 billion rials (about $4 million), will be put into operation in the province during the reporting period.

"In addition, roads, which are connecting villages in 4 counties of the Kerman Province will also be put into operation within Government Week in Iran. A total of 2.31 billion rials (about $4.7 million) has been spent in this regard,” he noted.
