Some 3,501 tons of cargo were transshipped through Kazakhstan’s Aktau port in 2021, the port told Trend on Jan. 19.

Commenting on the possibility of implementing projects for the modernization of its activities this year, the port said that no such projects are planned.

Presently, there are three seaports in Kazakhstan, namely, Aktau, Bautino and Kuryk, which serve ships of various tonnages.

The Aktau Sea Port is located on the eastern coast of the Caspian Sea at the intersection of several international transport corridors.

The Bautino port in the settlement of the same name is a division of Aktau International Sea Trade Port.

The Kuryk port is located on the eastern coast of the Caspian Sea, in the south of the Aktau port, in the bay which provides favorable weather conditions for its operation. Therefore it’s able to receive road and railway ferry ships all year round.
