BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 31. Goods transshipment through the Kazakh port of Kuryk amounted to 265,000 tons in the first quarter of 2022, the port told Trend.

This volume amounted to 195,000 tons in the same period last year. The growth of transshipment amounted to 35.8 percent.

The port also reported that the volume of transshipment amounted to 226,000 tons in April 2022, and the projected volume for May is 230,000 tons.

Currently, three seaports in Kazakhstan provide services to ships of various tonnages: Aktau, Bautino and Kuryk.

The seaport of Aktau is located on the eastern coast of the Caspian Sea at the intersection of several international transport corridors.

The cargo area Bautino in the village of the same name is a division of National Company Aktau Sea Commercial Port JSC.

The port of Kuryk is located on the eastern coast of the Caspian Sea, south of the port of Aktau, in a natural bay, a gulf that provides favorable weather conditions for its operation. In this regard, the port is able to receive car and rail ferries all year round.
