BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 17. Volume of transshipment of containerized cargo through Kazakh port of Aktau have increased significantly, Trend reports with reference to press service of Kazakhstan Railways (KTZ) company.
This became known within framework of working visit of members of KTZ Board of Directors, who visited Aktau SeaPort, Kuryk Port and Aktau Sea Northern Terminal.
Significant increase in volume of transshipment of container cargo through port of Aktau was noted. Transshipment of metal has increased by 4 times, and the transshipment of containers has doubled since the beginning of 2022 in comparison with the same period last year.
Online information exchange between Kazakh port of Aktau and Azerbaijan’s Baku Seaport has been strengthened to increase throughput, number of simultaneously operating commissions for arrival and departure of ships has been increased.
"The capacity of Aktau port has increased due to the implementation of Aktau Sea Northern Terminal project. The current fleet of main and auxiliary equipment of terminal allows for transshipment of all types of general and container cargo," members also noted during the visit.
