BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 16. Overall, 24,365 passenger planes landed at and took off from Iranian airports for the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2023), as was reflected in the statistics of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), Trend reports.
According to the statistics, this is a decrease of 1 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
So, the figure stood at 25,271 in the same month of last Iranian year.
Meanwhile, a total of 301,403 passenger planes landed at and took off from Iranian airports within the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), which is a decrease of 5.44 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021).
There are 54 civil active airports in Iran. Some 14 of them are international airports. An average of 30 million passengers are transported through Iranian airports per year.
