Russia 's biggest oil and gas company Gazprom approved Wednesday a list of candidates to the new Board of Directors, which included Timur Kulibayev, head of Kazakhstan's National Wellbeing Fund Samruk-Kazyna, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported.
Other candidates included head of Gazprombank Andrei Akimov, rector of the State Oil and Gas University Viktor Martynov, rector of Academy of National Economy Vladimir Mau, first Deputy Premier of Russia Victor Zubkov and others, Gazprom announced.
Gazprom will hold an extraordinary meeting of shareholders on June 30 to approve the candidates.
The initial list of candidates to the new Board of Directors was approved in February for further elections at annual meeting on June 24. However, Russian president Dmitriy Medvedev instructed to replace eight ministers and deputy prime ministers from the boards of major state-run companies by July 1. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin stepped down as chairman of Rosneft oil company the same month.
