Hail damaged 410 private houses, several office buildings and left two settlements in East Kazakhstan region without communications, water and electricity, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported with reference to the regional Emergency Situations Department.
"According to preliminary data, hail damaged 410 private houses in Tarbagatai region. Windows and roofs were broken. There are no victims," the Department said.
According to the regional authorities, 345 private houses and school were damaged in Kyzyl-Kasik village. Moreover, 60 private houses and electricity lines were damaged in Oyshilik rural district. In Kumgolsk rural district the hail damaged roofs of five private houses, ambulance station, local administration and house of culture. Due to the lack of electricity, there is no drinking water in the district.
It hailed during 20 minutes in Eastern Kazakhstan on Tuesday. According to regional Emergency Situations Department, size of hails was similar to hen egg or potato.
The damage caused by hail in Sary-Arka village in Ayagoz district has not been determined yet.
