Today Astana marks Capital Day, which coincides with President Nursultan Nazarbayev's birthday.
The festivities will begin with a marquee event - opening of unique religious complex, the largest mosque in Central Asia "Hazrat Sultan".
The opening ceremony will be attended by President Nazarbayev. Today he turns 72 years old.
The new building is unique, from the point of view of architecture - the mosque is surrounded by four tall minarets of 77 meters. Another architectural merit of the new mosque is ten domes. Mosque can accommodate 5,000 people at the same time, which is unique for Kazakhstan. In addition, the appearance of the mosque is interesting because it is in the classical style with traditional Kazakh ornamental patterns that Astana's designers have developed.
