Law enforcement bodies of the south metropolis of Alamaty have revealed a large illegal casino, said the press service of the Commission on Criminal Policy of MIA RK.

"The employees of the Commission on criminal policy of Kazakhstan's Interior Ministry ahead with the Prosecutor's Office of Bostandik district, with the assistance of the fighters of special units "Berkut" have revealed the underground poker club "Astoria", located on the 4th floor of the building, adjoining the palace of sport named Baluana Sholaka in Almaty, said in the department's message.

As it's mentioned in a press release, there were 29 workers of the casino, 131 players, including 20 foreigners. Some of them have violated the migration laws.

Besides, 22 poker tables, 21 game machines, 2 e-roulettes and 3 video registers were revealed during the search. 4,5 mln tenge, about $14 thousands, 10,5 thousands playing counters have been seized from the cash-register. The registrations regarding incomes and expenditures were also revealed.

"The administrator of the casino is 45 year-old citizen of Uzbekistan, who has violated the migration laws and lives in Kazakhstan now. Operative-search actions are underway", said in the message.

The territorial units to combat organized crimes of the Interior Ministry have already revealed 479 illegally-working casinos and the rooms equipped with game machines this year. Criminal cases have been launched under the Criminal Code's article #269 (organization of illegal playing establishment). Criminal proceedings have been taken against 81 organizers of the playing establishments. 46 materials have been sent to financial policy for investigation, the rest are under consideration.

8,773 mln tenge, $22 thousands, 2075 game machines and 148 units of other playing equipment have been seized during the investigation
