Egypt to discuss possibility of signing free trade agreement with EAU

The Egyptian delegation will pay a visit to Astana in order to conduct negotiations on signing a free trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union, Kazakh foreign ministry said on Oct. 18.

The Kazakh ambassador to Egypt Berik Aryn discussed the issue during the meeting with the minister of industry, trade, small and medium business of Egypt Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour.
"The sides discussed the ways of development of bilateral cooperation in trade and economic sphere during the meeting," the ministry said. "They also discussed issues of visit of the Egyptian delegation to Astana for negotiations on signing a free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and Egypt planned for late October."

Egyptian minister stressed his country's aspiration for the expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation with Kazakhstan, which is one of the founders of the EAU.
He said that the creation of a free trade area between Egypt and the Eurasian Union would open up new opportunities for the development of comprehensive relations between the two countries.
