Russia granted Kazakh airlines the right to fly on the Trans-Siberian routes, crossing Russian airspace, Kazakh Investment and Development Ministry said in a message March 7.

The corresponding agreement was reached between Kazakhstan and Russia after long negotiations.
This permission will allow Kazakh Airlines to launch new flights to Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia) and Tokyo (Japan).

In addition, Kazakhstan carriers got permission to perform daily flights on Astana-Baikonur and Almaty-Baikonur routes.

Baikonur city is located next to the Baikonur Cosmodrome, which is the world's first and largest operational space launch facility. It is in the desert steppe of Kazakhstan, however is rented and administered by Russia (currently until 2050).
