BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 15. Kazakhstan plans to adopt high-tech approaches to the organization of the greenhouse economy from the Netherlands, Vice Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Abulkhair Tamabek said during the GreenTech international exhibition in Amsterdam, Trend reports via the ministry.

“Our country has a huge potential for the greenhouse sector development with its solar energy and 25 million hectares of arable land. We have many opportunities. For greenhouses, one hectare is quite enough not only to meet the needs of the family but also to send part of the crop for sale. Every citizen of Kazakhstan has such an opportunity (to lease one hectare of land from the state for gardening),” Tamabek noted.

“This is a huge opportunity and we should take advantage of it. We must implement the practices of those countries where greenhouses are well developed," he noted, emphasizing the well-deserved leadership of the Netherlands in the development and management of greenhouses.
