BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 4. The desalination plant in Kazakhstan's Karazhanbas field will run at full capacity by the end of 2022, Trend reports citing the company.

This became known during a working trip of the Chairman of the Management Board of National Company "KazMunayGas" (KMG) JSC Magzum Mirzagaliyev to Mangystau and Atyrau regions.

Thus, Mirzagaliyev visited a desalination plant at the Karazhanbas field in the Mangystau region. The plant performance testing took place on July 1, 2022. Currently, water treatment at the enterprise equals 7,000-8,000 cubic meters per day.

According to First Deputy General Director of Karazhanbasmunai JSC Kuanyshbai Nurgaliyev, over 950,000 cubic meters of potable water, supplied through the Astrakhan-Mangyshlak water pipeline, has already been released in favor of the Mangystau's population. The plant will reach its full production capacity of 17,000 cubic meters (the distilled water volume is gained by processing groundwater with a volume of 42,500 cubic meters per day) is expected before the end of 2022.

During the visit, Mirzagaliyev instructed the management of Karazhanbasmunai JSC with ensuring the desalination plant's stable work to achieve its design capacity, as well as speed up the completion of the remaining construction and installation work and the preparation of executive and technical documentation.
