EDB sets out amount of medium-term investments figured on in Kazakhstan

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 14. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) plans to invest $2.5 billion in projects in Kazakhstan over the next three years, said Deputy Chairman of the Board of the EDB Ruslan Dalenov, Trend reports.

As he noted, this amount may change.

"Because this year the plan for Kazakhstan was $700 million, but this amount is already $1 billion. Fulfillment of the plan for the current year is 140 percent," he said.

According to Dalenov, Kazakhstan is the largest recipient of investments from the EDB.

"More than 55 percent of the bank's investments are in Kazakhstan," he said.

In addition, the bank plans to invest $1 billion in Kazakhstan in 2024 alone. There is currently a $1.7 billion project pool.

Furthermore, in total, over the 17 years of existence of the EDB, 104 projects were implemented in Kazakhstan for a total of $5.6 billion.

Since the beginning of the year, investments in the Republic of Kazakhstan have exceeded $1 billion. This year, among others, projects were launched in transport, energy, and the chemical industry.

Kazakhstan ranks first in terms of the investment volumes of the Eurasian Development Bank.
