Kazakhstan greatly boosts imports from France

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 18. The trade exchange between Kazakhstan and France reached a total of more than 3.38 billion euros from January through September 2023, the source at Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, told Trend.

During the reporting period, the trade volume between Kazakhstan and France decreased by 15.1 percent in contrast to the initial 9 months of the year prior (3.98 billion euros).

Kazakhstan’s exports to France for 9 months of this year amounted to 2.58 billion euros, which is 25.3 percent less than for the same period in 2022 (3.46 billion euros).

At the same time, Kazakhstan's imports from France have increased. Imports for this period amounted to 794.2 million euros, which is 52.5 percent higher than the figures from January through September 2022 (520.7 million euros).

Meanwhile, trade turnover between the EU countries and Kazakhstan amounted to 31.7 billion euros from January through September 2023. This figure exceeds by 10.8 percent the figures for the same period in 2022 (28.6 billion euros).

Kazakhstan’s exports to the EU reached 22.5 billion euros, which is 2 percent more than in the same period in 2022 (22 billion euros).

Imports for the same period amounted to 9.17 billion euros, which exceeds the figure for the first nine months of 2022 (about 6.53 billion euros) by 40 percent.
