VTB Bank Kazakhstan discloses net profit in 2023

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 26. The net profit of VTB Bank (Kazakhstan) amounted to 20.7 billion tenge (about $45.8 million) in 2023, Trend reports.

According to the bank, VTB assets increased by 17 percent to 226 billion tenge (about $500 million), the volume of attracted client funds doubled, to 108.4 billion tenge (about $240 million).

The growth driver of the deposit portfolio last year was the deposits of individuals. Customers place the bulk of their funds – 90 percent – in national currency, since rates on such products allow them to obtain the highest returns.

At the same time, in 2023, VTB doubled its network of self-service devices in Kazakhstan to 60 ATMs. In addition, in four branches in Almaty, Astana, Shymkent and Karaganda, for the first time, special service areas for wealthy clients appeared.

"In 2023, we seriously restructured our business model, which has shown its effectiveness. In the corporate segment, the flagship is foreign economic activity. The bank doubled the volume of contracts for foreign economic activity. Today, our expertise in this area allows us to remain one of the key financial partners for companies that work with the markets of Russia and Kazakhstan," said Chairman of the Board of VTB (Kazakhstan) Dmitry Zabello, commenting on the results of activities for 2023.

VTB (Kazakhstan) is part of the international financial group VTB. The bank's branches are represented in 17 regions of Kazakhstan, with a central office in Almaty.
