(KAZINFORM) - Today in Almaty there has been opened KIOGE 2006 EXPO one of the most prestigious events in oil and gas industry of Kazakhstan and Caspian region on the whole.
The exhibition was organized by Kazakhstani expositional company Iteca in association with international group of exhibitory companies ITE (Great Britain) under the auspices of Kazakh Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry, NC KazMunaiGas JSC, akimat of Almaty city, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kazakhstan and diplomatic missions of exposition's member countries.
Above 500 companies from 38 countries of the world are taking part in the event. The fact that 96 of these companies are participating in the show for the first time illustrates growing interest of foreign countries in Kazakhstan.
According to KIOGE 2006 organizers, 28% of the participants are foreign companies, 43% - Kazakhstani firms and 29% are representatives of Russia and CIS countries.
Career fair with the participation of 14 largest domestic and international companies will be held within the exhibition for the first time ever. Besides, in the framework of the event there will be conducted specific technical seminars.
The total floor space of the expo is 21 000 sq.m. As deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Lyazzat Kiinov has stated the exhibition is the place where colleagues can share their achievements.
It was a successful year for Kazakhstan. We have built 1000 kilometers long pipeline to China, signed agreements between governments of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan on contribution to Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline's functioning. I think these projects will afford Kazakhstanis a good profit, he added.
Kazakhstan proved to be an oil and gas power. In this respect KIOGE expo is some kind of a meeting point for officials and analysts, suppliers and buyers, where they can discuss and solve issues concerning development of business partnership and future projects, reports Trend.
