Kyrgyzstan - leading reformer in East Europe, Central Asia

Kyrgyzstan is leading reformer in the Eastern Europe and Central Asia, the World Bank says with a reference to the results of Doing Business Report 2010.

The republic ranks among world leaders in ease of normative legal regulation of doing business.

"The Kyrgyz Republic for the second time demonstrates essential improvement of many indices. Upgrading of Kyrgyz rating shows excellent result of joint work of the government, private sector representatives and sponsor organizations on creating favorable for doing business conditions," Neil Gregory, senior adviser on Financial and Private Sector Development at the World Bank said.

As the news agency 24.kg earlier reported, Kyrgyzstan has taken 41st position in the World Bank Doing Business rating. The republic was the second among 10 top reformers. The country has carried out reforms in seven out of ten spheres: Starting a business, Dealing with construction permits, Employing workers, Registering property, Getting credit (legal rights), Paying taxes and Trading across borders.
