BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 18. The trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Canada in January 2023 decreased by 18 percent year-on-year - from $1.3 million to $1 million, Trend reports via the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

According to the statistics, the value of exports from Kyrgyzstan to Canada made up $18,100 in January 2023, and only $2,000 in January 2022.

At the same time, the value of Kyrgyz imports from Canada reached $1 million, which is a decrease of 20 percent, compared to $1.3 million in January last year.

Meanwhile, the trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Canada amounted to $16.9 million from January through December 2022, which is 64 percent less than in 2021 ($47.9 million).

The exports from Kyrgyzstan to Canada totaled $258,300 last year, which is a decrease of 61 percent, compared to $654,100 in 2021.

Meanwhile, the imports to Kyrgyzstan from Canada made up $16.7 million in the reporting period. The figure decreased by 65 percent over $47.3 million in 2021.

In general, Kyrgyzstan's trade turnover amounted to $834.7 million in January 2023, which is an increase of 20 percent compared to $692.5 million in January 2022.

The exports from Kyrgyzstan stood at $125.5 million, increasing by 11 percent compared to $111 million in January 2022. The imports to Kyrgyzstan made up $709 million, which is an increase of 22 percent compared to $581 million in January 2022.
