BAKU, Azerbaijan. March 27. The price for the construction of the Orto-Tokoy small hydroelectric power plant in Kyrgyzstan in cooperation with China is estimated at about $36 million, Trend reports with reference to the Kyrgyz Stock Exchange.

The HPP is planned to be constructed on the Orto-Tokoy reservoir in the Issyk-Kul region of the country.

According to the Ministry of Energy and Industry of Kyrgyzstan, the contract for the construction of the Orto-Tokoy small HPP was signed by Nurlan Sadykov, General Director of the Chakan HPP, and Zheng Hansong, Vice President of China National Heavy Machinery Corporation, on March 24.

The HPP is planned to have three hydroelectric power generation units with a total capacity of 21 MW.

The Orto-Tokoy reservoir is the first reservoir in Kyrgyzstan that is designed for seasonal regulation of the Chu River flow and irrigation of 120,000 hectares of land. The operation of the Orto-Tokoy small hydropower plant is planned to be regulated in accordance with the irrigation mode of the reservoir.

China National Machinery Industry Corporation is a Chinese conglomerate, founded in 1980, that operates in multiple industries, including tool manufacturing, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, and infrastructure construction. The company generates significant revenue from international projects.
