Microcredit organizations of Kyrgyzstan increase loan issuance in 2022

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 1. The loans issued by the microcredit organizations of Kyrgyzstan exceeded 39 billion soms ($446 million) in 2022, which is an increase of 6 percent compared to 37 billion soms ($423 million) in 2021, Trend reports via the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

Of the total volume of microcredits issued in 2022, 48.5 percent was allocated for consumer needs, which is 10 p.p. more than in 2021.

In the reporting period, more than 23 percent of microcredits were directed to the development of agriculture. The figure decreased by 5.1 p.p. compared to 2021.

Meanwhile, 11.7 percent of microcredits were allocated to a trade and public catering last year, and 6.3 percent - to construction.

Significant amounts of microcredits were issued in:

Bishkek city - 7.4 billion soms ($84 million), or 19.0 percent of the total volume of microcredits issued;

Osh region - 6.8 billion soms ($77 million), or 17.4 percent of the total volume of microcredits issued;

Chui region - 6.4 billion soms ($73 million), or 16.3 percent of the total volume of microcredits issued;

Jalal-Abad region - 5.7 billion soms ($65 million), or 14.6 percent of the total volume of microcredits issued.

The number of credit recipients amounted to 672,000 people in 2022, which is 4.3 percent more than in 2021 (644,600 people).

The rate of repayment of microcredits amounted to 97.1 percent, increasing by 1.6 p.p. over 2021.
