BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 17. Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan amounted to $13.58 million from January through May 2023 or 0.5 percent of Azerbaijan trade turnover with the members of CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), Trend reports.
As reported by the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee, there was a 3.8 times rise in the figure compared to $3.48 million recorded during the corresponding period in 2022.
The share of Kyrgyzstan in Azerbaijan's overall trade turnover during the reporting period of 2023 amounted to nearly 0.06 percent.
During the five-month period, the value of imports from Azerbaijan to Kyrgyzstan reached $11.56 million, demonstrating a substantial increase of 13.8 times compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, which stood at $834,720.
In turn, Kyrgyz exports to Azerbaijan totaled $2 million, which is a 23.6-percent decline compared to the same period of 2022 ($2.65 million).
Meantime, the trade turnover of Azerbaijan from January through May 2023 totaled $22.95 billion, representing a growth of 11.6 percent or $2.4 billion compared to $20.5 billion in the same period of the previous year.
Azerbaijani exports accounted for $16.11 billion, indicating an increase of 4.5 percent or $697.822 million compared to the corresponding period in 2022. On the other hand, imports reached $6.83 billion, reflecting a growth of 33.1 percent or $1.7 billion compared to 2022.
