BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 14. Individuals from Kyrgyzstan transferred a total of $32.4 million to other countries in June 2023, Trend reports.
According to the country’s National Bank, the majority of these funds were sent to Russia, amounting to $30.5 million, or 94.1 percent of the total.
Another $300,000 was directed to Kazakhstan, while $4,000 million was sent to other CIS countries.
As for the outflow to more distant foreign countries in June 2023, it reached $1.2 million. Out of this amount, $700,000 was sent to Türkiye, while the remaining $500,000 was distributed among other countries.
Over the span of the first six months of 2023, the total volume of money transfers from Kyrgyzstan amounted to $256.84 million, indicating a 29 percent decrease compared to the same period in 2022.
Meanwhile, a total of $1.2 billion was transferred from Kyrgyzstan to other countries in 2022. Remittances to the country amounted to $2.928 billion last year, resulting in a net inflow of $1.727 billion.
