BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 1. Kyrgyzstan's imports of passenger cars from the US during the period from January through June 2023 increased 7.3 times year-on-year, Trend reports.
The State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan data shows that the country imported 11,442 passenger cars from the US during the reporting period. In comparison, only 1,557 passenger cars were imported in the same months of 2022.
The total value of these imports amounted to $93.092 million, increasing 6.3 times compared to the same period in 2022 ($14.635 million).
The US was the second-largest supplier of passenger cars to Kyrgyzstan, following South Korea, which exported 21,708 cars for $183.468 million.
In total, Kyrgyzstan imported 67,430 passenger cars in the first half of 2023, which is an increase of 4.1 times year-on-year. The total value of these imports amounted to $867.851 million, surging by 6.8 times compared to $127.493 million in the first half of 2022.
Kyrgyzstan's imports equaled $5.398 billion from January through June, which is an increase of 30.3 percent compared to the same months of the previous year.
