BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 20. Kyrgyzstan's trade with the EAEU (Eurasian Economic Union) countries amounted to $2.357 billion from January through July 2023, which represented 28.9 percent of Kyrgyzstan's total trade turnover, Trend reports.
Data from the State Statistical Committee of the country indicates that this share slightly decreased from 29.8 percent from January through June 2023.
The total value of trade also decreased by 8.5 percent compared to $2.575 billion in the same period of 2022.
Within the EAEU countries, the largest share of trade was with Russia, accounting for $1.542 billion or 18.9 percent of Kyrgyzstan's total trade. Kazakhstan followed with trade valued at $759.095 million, or 9.3 percent of Kyrgyzstan's total trade.
Trade turnover between Belarus and Kyrgyzstan amounted to $52.887 million, representing 0.6 percent of Kyrgyzstan's trade turnover. The trade with Armenia was minimal, with trade between the two countries amounting to $3.107 million.
Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $8.153 billion from January through July 2023, which is an increase of 32.3 percent compared to the same months of 2022.
Exports amounted to $1.602 billion, increasing by 45.6 percent compared to the corresponding months of 2022. Imports rose by 29.4 percent year-on-year, totaling $6.551 billion.
