The number of liquefied gas filling stations increased in Tajikistan, Asia-Plus reported with reference to the country's Energy and Industry Ministry (MoEI) on Thursday.
Some 37 stations were constructed in the country in 2011, bringing the total number of liquefied gas filling stations operating in Tajikistan to 507.
"Roughly 214 liquefied gas filling stations now operate in the Sughd province, 121 - Khatlon province, 97 - districts subordinate to the center, 64 - Dushanbe and 11 - Gorno Badakhshan," the source said. The increase is linked with the higher gasoline prices.
Today, the price for liquefied gas is 3.5 somoni per liter, while the price for a liter of gasoline in Tajikistan fluctuates from 6.20 to 7.00 somoni, depending on type of gasoline.
Based on the ministry's statistics, more than 297,000 tons of liquefied gas was delivered to Tajikistan during the first nine months of 2011, which is 876 tons more compared to the same period last year.
