DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, July 28. Tajikistan's imports from Belgium from January through April 2023 were primarily composed of chemicals, which accounted for 53.2 percent of the total share, Trend reports.
According to the Belgian Foreign Trade Agency, Tajikistan imported chemicals for 4.691 million euro from Belgium in the reporting period, which is 9.66 times more than in the same months of 2022 (488,650 euro).
In 2022, Tajikistan imported from Belgium chemicals for 2.9 million euro, which is 37.2 percent less than in 2021 (4.621 million euro).
Meanwhile, Tajikistan’s trade turnover with Belgium totaled 20.6 million euro from January through April 2023, which is 10 percent more than 18.6 million euro in the same period of 2022.
Tajikistan’s export to Belgium amounted to 11.8 million euros, while the country’s imports from Belgium were 8.8 million euro.
In 2022, Tajikistan's imports from Belgium amounted to 8 million euros, decreasing 13.9 percent compared to 2021's figure of 9.3 million euros.
At the same time, Tajikistan's exports to Belgium reached 31 million euros in 2022, experiencing a 5.7 percent decline from the previous year's figure of 32.9 million euros.
From January through June 2023, Tajikistan's trade turnover amounted to $3.42 billion, which is 2.8 percent or $98.2 million less than the trade turnover in the same period of 2022.
