DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 15. Tajikistan's state budget recorded revenues of 19.808 billion somoni ($1.8 billion) from January through June 2023, Trend reports.
Data from the country’s National Bank shows that revenues were 15.893 billion somoni ($1.4 billion) from January through May 2023, therefore revenues to the budget amounted to 3.915 billion somoni ($356 million) in June 2023.
Expenditures of the state budget reached 18.608 billion somoni ($1.6 billion) for the first half of 2023. Taking into account that 14.847 billion somoni ($1.3 billion) was spent from January through May 2023, the monthly expenditure in June amounted to 3.761 billion somoni ($342.3 million).
During the period under review, Tajikistan recorded a state budget surplus of 1.199 billion somoni ($109 million).
The World Bank (WB) anticipates that state expenditures in Tajikistan will remain relatively steady in 2023, constituting approximately 28.2 percent of the GDP.
This projection is slightly lower than the 29.1 percent reported in 2022. Furthermore, the WB predicts that state expenditures in Tajikistan will remain at 28.6 percent in both 2024 and 2025.
