This development during the period was primarily driven by industrial production, freight turnover, passenger transportation, the agriculture sector, the construction sector, trade turnover, and the service sector.

According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan, the GDP growth of Tajikistan in 2022 amounted to 8 percent.

*Data on Tajikistan’s GDP were calculated by production method, according to the country's National Bank. Calculation of GDP by the production method includes the following stages:

At the first stage, the value of all final goods or services produced in the country for a certain period of time is determined. Next, for each stage of production, the cost of all goods and services used at this stage is deducted. This includes raw materials, components, energy and other resources that are used to create the final product.

The difference between the value of the final product and the value of all goods and services used in its production is called added value. Then, the added values from all stages of production are summed up, and the result is GDP by the production method.
