BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. The complex of clothing and shoe factories located in the Magtymguly city of the Balkan region in the west of Turkmenistan increased production figures from January through March 2023, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
According to the information, during the reporting period, the complex manufactured products worth over 5 million Turkmen manats ($1.42 million), of which 2 million Turkmen manats ($570,840) accounted for sewing and knitting products, and about 3 million Turkmen manats ($856,260) for shoes.
Compared to the same period last year, the production growth rate was 35 percent. Most of the products are sold on the domestic market.
With the increasing dynamics of the construction of industrial and social facilities in Turkmenistan, the industry is becoming one of the major sectors of the economy, which is given an important role in the implementation of import substitution programs and increasing the export potential of the state.
