Turkmenistan's commodity exchange records significant sales surge

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, March 12. Turkmenistan held auctions on its State Commodity and Raw Material Exchange last week, where more than $109.6 million worth of raw materials were sold, Trend reports.

According to the exchange, this is about 7.1 times higher than in the previous reporting period, when the cost of raw materials sold amounted to $15.3 million.

Representatives of the business circles of Türkiye, the UAE, the UK, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan purchased polypropylene, aviation kerosene, gasoline, kerosene produced by the enterprises of the Turkmennebit State Concern, as well as carbamide manufactured at the production enterprises of the Turkmenhimiya State Concern.

Furthermore, representatives of the business communities of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, UAE, Serbia, Afghanistan, and Kyrgyzstan concluded deals for the purchase of portland cement, handmade carpets, denim and dyed terry products, denim and cotton fabric, cotton yarn, dry licorice root extract and purified cotton waste.

Turkmen entrepreneurs have purchased petroleum bitumen, flat glass, glass containers, handmade carpets, smooth-dyed and jacquard terry products, cotton yarn, fabric and others for the domestic market in the amount of more than 33.3 million Turkmen manat ($9.53 million).

Last week's auctions of Turkmenistan's State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange yielded 75 transactions.
