Uzbekistan to build its first digital control system substation

National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan joint-stock company will build the first substation with digital control system in Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.

The investment project for the construction of a 220 kV "Zafarabad" substation is being implemented with the support of the Asian Development Bank and will be commissioned in 2023 in the Jizzakh region.

“Zafarabad substation with a high level of automation of technological processes, equipped with the most modern information technology, and control system, will provide additional power to the regional power system of 500 MVA”, Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC National Electric Grids of Uzbekistan Feruz Kurbanov, said.

Based on the results of international tenders, in accordance with Asian Development Bank procedures, the contract for construction on a turnkey basis was awarded to Chinese Shanghai Electric Group Company. The consulting company for this project will be German GOPA - International Energy Consultants company.
