BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 8. The total capacity of the energy system of Uzbekistan is estimated to exceed 16,000 MW in 2022,Trend reports via Uzbek Ministry of Energy.
From January through March, 2022, 5 power plants were launched in Uzbekistan.
Another 2 new power plants are expected to be put into operation this year with the total capacity of 1474 MW.
As a result, 6 new thermal power plants and one solar photoelectric power plant will start operating this year.
In addition, 7 hydroelectric power plants with a total capacity of 173 MW will be built and modernized in 2022 in Samarkand, Surkhandarya and Tashkent regions of Uzbekistan.
