BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 26. Uzbekistan has completed the overhaul of Termez International Airport in the Surkhondaryo Region, Trend reports via Uzbek media.
The Uzbek government has spent 337 billion of soums ($33.5 million) on the reconstruction project of Termez airport.
For this amount of money, a new 4E category airfield complex was built, including a new 3,000 meters long and 60 meters wide runway, taxiways and apron for three aircraft parking lots.
Furthermore, a modern CAT-I ICAO system of light-signaling equipment, weather and radio-navigation system for landing was installed.
In addition, three parking lots for aircrafts and the second taxiway will be constructed by April 2023.
Considering the final stage of reconstruction, the renovation project of Uzbekistan’s Termez airfield complex is estimated at 550 billion soums ($48.9 million).
