BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 14. Uzbekistan has shared data on its population, Trend reports via Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
According to statistics, as of January 1, 2023, Uzbekistan’s population stood at 36.02 million, increasing by 2.9 percent compared to the January 1, 2022 figure (35.2 million).
State Statistics Committee notes that, as of January 1, 2023, the number of people living in urban areas exceeds the number of people living in rural areas by 646,500 people.
Furthermore, some 2,955,700 people live in Uzbekistan’s capital Tashkent.
