BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 24. Russia Uzbekistan's main trade partner in January 2023, Trend reports citing the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
According to the statistics, during the reporting period, trade turnover between the countries amounted to $688.4 million - an increase of 19.7 percent compared to January 2022 figure ($574.9 million).
Russia’s imports from Uzbekistan in the reporting period made up $218.8 million, increasing by 20.1 percent over January 2022 ($182.1 million), while exports amounted to $469.6 million.
In January 2023, Russia imported from Uzbekistan some 15,300 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $16.8 million, and textile products worth $102.7 million, etc.
Uzbekistan's trade turnover in January of this year amounted to $5.04 billion, increasing by 42 percent, compared to the first month of 2022 ($3.5 billion). Export from Uzbekistan in January 2023 amounted to about $2.08 billion, while imports to Uzbekistan - were $2.9 billion.
Russia was also Uzbekistan's main trade partner in 2022. Russia imported from Uzbekistan carpets worth $4 million, textile products worth $1.2 billion, about 541,900 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $486.7 million, 146,700 TVs, 105,300 refrigerators, 547,400 pairs of footwear, 41,100 washing machines, etc.
