BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 22. Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan amounted to $167.2 million from January through February 2023, Trend reports via Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.
According to statistics, trade turnover between countries increased by 17.6 percent or $25.1 million, compared to the same period in 2022 ($142.1 million).
Uzbekistan’s export to Kyrgyzstan in the reporting period made up $129.1 million, increasing by 10.8 percent, compared to the figure for the first two months in 2022 ($116.5 million).
Uzbekistan imported from Kyrgyzstan products and services worth $38.2 million. This figure has increased by 49.2 percent, compared to the same period in 2022 ($25.6 million).
During the reporting period, Kyrgyzstan imported some 11,900 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $2.6 million from Uzbekistan, textile products worth $76 million, etc.
From January through February 2023, the foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan amounted to $8.9 billion, increasing by 2 percent or $176.4 million, compared to the same period last year ($8.7 billion).
Meanwhile, in 2022, Kyrgyzstan's trade turnover with Uzbekistan reached $1.2 billion, which is an increase of 32.1 percent, compared to the figure for 2021 ($953.6 million).
