BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 1. Uzbekistan has purchased some 10 new buses from the Chinese Yutong company, Trend reports via Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Transport.

According to the ministry, a new batch of Chinese buses will be used to service passenger transportation on the "Bukhara-Tashkent-Bukhara" route.

The increase in the number of buses will make it possible to transport an additional 550 passengers daily from Bukhara to Tashkent.

In February 2023, for the purchase of passenger buses from China, the National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of Uzbekistan signed an agreement with the China Development Bank (CDB) to attract a new credit line for 1.8 billion Chinese Yuan ($261.1 million).

This credit line will make it possible to finance Uzbekistan’s bus acquisition from major Chinese bus manufacturers, in particular, Chinese King Long will sell 200 city CNG buses to the Uzbek side, while Yutong will supply 500 units of 12 meter-long CNG buses, as well as 300 electric buses.

The purchase is carried out within the framework of the decree of Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev "On measures to reform the public transport system" dated February 16.
