TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 14. Uzbekistan and Zood group of companies (the brand of the Orient Swiss Company) discussed issues of digitalization of foreign economic activity through the launch of bonded warehouses and increasing the knowledge of small and medium-sized businesses in the field of e-commerce, Trend reports.
According to the official source of Uzbekistan, these issues were discussed between the First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan Oleg Pekos, the chief executive officer and chairman of the board of directors of the Zood group of companies Michael Khoi, the chief logistics director of the company Askarbek Alshanbayev and the director of the Fargo delivery service of the Zood company Azamat Abdullayev.
During the meeting, Michael Khoi noted the possibility of selling products manufactured in Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq and Pakistan through the Zoodmall platform.
Furthermore, the parties touched upon the issues hindering the development of e-commerce today, and also, following the meeting, reached an agreement on involving other government agencies in upcoming meetings and establishing strong partnerships.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover with other countries from January through May this year amounted to $25.81 billion, which is 25.4 percent more than the same period last year ($20.58 billion).
