TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 1. Uzbekistan's melon exports have surged in the first half of 2023, reaching a total value of $16.7 million, Trend reports.
According to the country's agency statistics, Uzbekistan exported 79,900 tons of melons in the first six months of the year, marking a notable increase of 16,800 tons compared to the corresponding period in 2022.
The primary importers of Uzbek melons were Kazakhstan, receiving 35,700 tons, followed by Russia and Kyrgyzstan with 29,300 tons and 12,600 tons, respectively.
Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover from January through June 2023 amounted to $29.2 billion, which is $4.7 billion, or 19.4 percent more year-on-year ($24.4 billion from January through June 2022).
As of today, Uzbekistan has established trade relations with 183 countries worldwide. The highest foreign trade volume is recorded with China (18.1 percent), Russia (15.1 percent), Kazakhstan (7.5 percent), Türkiye (5.1 percent), and South Korea (3.6 percent).
