TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 6. Uzbekistan and Hungary discussed joint agricultural projects, Trend reports.

The statement was made by Hungarian Minister of Agriculture István Nagy on X (Twitter), following the meeting with Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture Jamshid Khodjaev.

”Agricultural relations between Hungary and Uzbekistan are growing dynamically. There is a continuous communication between the two countries at the level of enterprises and projects," said Nagy.

The minister pointed out that both countries are ready to respond to the challenges of food security and climate change. In this context, he said, modernizing irrigation is a good example.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed further cooperation in the field of science, including exchanges of students and researchers, and joint research and education projects.

Earlier this year, Uzbekistan revealed the volume of investment portfolio with Hungary, which amounted to $1.5 billion. Uzbek-Hungarian Joint Investment Fund started its work in the third quarter of 2023 with Hungarian government investing $200 million in the development of this Fund.
