TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 13. Uzbekistan plans to bring Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to $160 billion by 2030, advisor to the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Abdulla Khashimov said, Trend reports.
He made the remark at the international Road Transport conference in Tashkent.
Uzbekistan is looking to increase the volume of exports is planned to increase to $45 billion by 2030, as opposed to $18.5 billion in 2022.
"All this requires an increase in international freight traffic. Today, Uzbekistan is maintaining trade relations with more than 180 countries and road transport plays a key role in these relations. Volume of Uzbekistan's export cargo transportation by road increased by 5 times over the past six years," Khashimov said.
The volume of GDP in Uzbekistan amounted to $80.4 billion in 2022 with an increase of 13 percent compared to $69.24 billion in 2021.
Earlier this year, Moody’s rating agency forecasted the growth of Uzbekistan’s GDP at the level of 5 percent in 2023. As per data provided by the analytical agency, Uzbekistan’s GDP levels will remain generally stable at around 5-6 percent in 2024.
