TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 30. Uzbekistan’s Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine JSC has recently started the first and only production of ferromolybdenum in Central Asia, Trend reports.
The company plans to reach 2,000 kg mark monthly in production of the special alloy. The combine has already sent 5,500 kg to Uzbekistan’s Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine JSC.
Currently, the company is studying domestic and foreign markets to ship the alloy to countries like Japan, South Korea, Germany, China, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
It is planned to reach production worth 170 billion Uzbek soums ($13.9 million) worth of ferromolybdenum products by 2025.
Ferromolybdenum is an alloy used in the production of stainless, heat-resistant, heavy alloys of non-ferrous metals, special grades of steels, able to increase the strength of iron.
Ferromolybdenum additives significantly improve the properties of steel, increase the uniformity of the fine crystal composition, heat resistance and hardness, as well as the acid resistance of metals.
