TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, December 23. Uzbekistan’s Thermal Power Plants JSC produced 48.9 billion kWh of electricity from January through November of 2023, Trend reports.
The news followed a press conference, with the participation of representatives of the company, on preparation for the heating season and the development of renewable energy sources in Tashkent.
During the meeting, it was revealed that the recorded volume exceeded the planned amount by 1.1 billion kWh, achieving a task completion rate of 102.3 percent.
The company's representatives disclosed that by the end of 2023, according to the plan, 53.8 billion kWh of electricity will be generated.
The company representatives noted that company currently has two gas pistons for the production of electricity with a capacity of 4.6 MW, the transmission of thermal energy with a capacity of 25.4 Gcal, as well as two hot water boilers with a complete thermal system equipped with separate heating points are installed on the territory of the complex.
As a result of the measures taken, losses in heat supply networks are planned to be reduced by 90 percent. Additionally, an extra 32 million kWh of electricity is expected to be generated, resulting in an annual savings of 1 million cubic meters of natural gas.
Earlier this year, it was announced that Uzbekistan plans to attract $7 billion of private investment to create an additional 9 GW of generating capacity.
The total volume of necessary investments in the electric power industry is estimated at $52 billion.
